Jimmo Settlement Coverage and Training Policies

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) recently released a memorandum reminder regarding the Jimmo Settlement Agreement and Medicare’s coverage of skilled nursing facility, home health, and outpatient therapy benefits. Skilled nursing services and skilled therapy services are covered by the Medicare program when they are needed to maintain a patient’s current condition or to prevent or slow further deterioration, even when patient improvement isn’t expected.
